From PHD to MBA! The MASTERMIND Group leads...

Ahem... how embarrassing... ;-) I'm now IN!

Yes, Bill, I wanna add on to Sid's post to also thank you for initiating this Mastermind Group. It's a fabulous idea to have a group of like-minded individuals who wanna achieve MBAs with their PHDs...

Yes, no mistaking from PHD to MBA!

In order to achieve MBA, one has to have loads of PHD... positive PHDs...

MBA, you guys know this already cos during the convention, we've met so many of them (or perhaps you are one of them as well?) and it was also reinforced time and again by the Speakers -

MBA = Massive Bank Account

And PHD? Well, gotta confess that this is my own adaptation through inspiration from all the talks and sharing during the convention...

PHD = Passionate Hunger & Desire

It all boils down to having passion for what you do. With passion, you will be able to sustain and persist in anything you undertake. With hunger, you never will stop till you satisfy your hunger... and with desire, you create that hope and vision... so that there is something to work towards!

So, my contribution and proposal is that we re-name our Mastermind blog as "From PHD to MBA... and then some!" Of course since this is a group thing, your views on this is important... ;-)

I agree that we must always surround ourselves with a positive environment, and that as a rule, all postings must be of a positive nature, even if we feel that a member need to be reassured or re-directed, postivity RULES! Sid, I think you agree?

On a related note, allow me also to say this. When it comes to the written word, and when combined with interaction between peoples of varying culture and background, sometimes words and phrases with innocent intent may be construed differently by another person with a different culture upbringing and background. This is going into cultural intelligence here... but is important. I hope that all of us will exercise maturity also so that if a phrase or word comes across as being aggressive or worse offensive, have an open mind and make it known to all how we feel. Let's all be friendly about it to teach each other about cultural "taboo" words or phrases as well so that we can be more wise in choosing words. Then we can laugh over it and move on... comments?

Schedule-wise... may be tough cos I'm almost 10 to 12 hours difference... but i'm sure we can work this out as we move along... not major problem.

Sid, with regard to updates and knowing when there are new postings, I believe that once we are registered users in this blog, as and when there are new postings, it will be re-directed to your email account that you register under? I know this cos I received an email with your and Bill's exact posting... and verified this when i visited this blog. So there is no worry. Bill, your reply to Sid via email was not captured here...

As for live-chat, we may want to consider a online conference software? or then again Skype?

One contribution to all about personal growth... not sure if you all read Gary Eby's book "Left Handed Soldiers"? He also shared during the convention, but I'd like to add here that it has a very powerful message and timely reminder and wake-up call for us, now and again. Time and again, we will get wounded, in all endeavours we undertake. We must not remain down and lick our wounds and fade away. But instead, we must review our remaining and existing strengths and see what other capabilities we have that can contribute to making the difference; these, inspite of our disabilities or disappointments or re-directions( what other people usually call failures). The left-hand, when sufficiently an correctly trained and practiced, can be as good as, or even better than, the right hand in battle!

Wow! Didn't realise I've been going on and on... I tend to get carried away when I write... ;-)

That's it for now! Let me know what you guys think, k? By the way, I think JingPing is quite caught up so she may not yet have cleared her emails... but yes, Bill, we should continue to include her into our mails.

Here's to our MBA via our PHD!
